Twitter is a powerful micro-blogging platform whose worth cannot be overlooked. Companies and individuals are using Twitter not only to connect with their peers and stay ahead of the curve, but also to promote the goods and services they offer.

If you are designer you undoubtedly view websites critically. You judge their flow and overall design. An important part of a site’s design is the font used on it. If you like a font style, you would definitely want to incorporate it into one of your latest site designs. But in order to do that you first need to know what font style is actually used. Because of the sheer number of fonts available on the web and the number of new fonts being created, it is hard to recognize fonts simply by looking them.
This is why I thought I should create a list of 5 online font recognizers. These tools are must-haves for every website designers. Give each of them a read and decide which one will suit your usage best.
Leaving our appliances on while we are not using them is a terrible waste of electrical power. There are parts of the world that do not have electricity at all; we should do our part to respect the resources we have and save them whenever / wherever we can.
Below you will find a list of 7 tools to prevent wasting electrical power. I believe that each entry in the list serves a useful purpose; read about each one and choose the one (or more than one) that suits you best.
Twitter has become a huge sharing source online. Accountholder on the social networking giant keep their followers posted of each and every thing that they experience. It cannot be argued that Twitter is a great way to know what people are talking about, what the trending topics are, and what is concerning Twitter users the most. This information keeps people well informed of their surroundings and the people in them.
Our memory always loses some stuff that we do not use regularly. This is something all of us know. This is why some of us do not know fractions anymore and cannot explain them to our children; this is also why we cannot sometimes remember the names of certain celebrities or places.
What we need is something that helps us revise everything we do not want to forget. What we need is Headmagnet.
A startpage is the thumbnails view of our favorite bookmarks. It helps us find bookmarks easily. Opera was the first browser that provided a startpage feature; now in addition to browsers supporting it, there are entire websites dedicated to the idea.
Online startpages have the advantage of accessibility. A browser created startpage is only accessible from a specific computer whereas an online startpage can be accessed from anywhere. Having reviewed many startpage websites, I have observed that many of them are somewhat the same. Sitehoover, however, is one truly unique startpage website.
Different workplaces have different ways to mark an employee’s attendance. Sometimes a physical register is kept in which each employ signs in and out. Other workplaces use a fingerprint scanner or a code-entering gadget to mark attendance. Another way is for each employee to sign in via an email which can only be opened from the office.
All these solutions are effective in marking attendance but are not effective in finding out where the employee is presently. In other words, if an employee is absent, the boss does not have a way to find the reason of absence.
If you are an avid music fan like me, you will surely love the application I have got for you today. Today all music is electronically stores and there is a good chance that all your music collection exists as mp3 files. Mp3 files are portable and can be carried around in flash drives as well as cellphones and mp3 players. But what if you have none of these things with you and only the internet? What if you want to listen to your favorite songs?
Before I started using torrents, I used to download songs from websites like MP3Raid. When I downloaded these songs, I transferred them onto my cellphone for later listening. However some of the songs were quite long and I wanted to cut them short. For this I used an MP3 editor to cut out a portion of the song. Even now when I have to extract a portion of the song for later listening or to set it as my ringtone, I use the MP3 editor which I have installed on my computer.
Facebook and Twitter users who own smartphones often are on the lookout for applications that can complement their social media usage. One way in which our social media accounts can be made more active is by developing a simple method to record videos on our cellphones and then share them on our social media accounts.
To perform this function you do not need any fancy application to install. The only things required are a smartphone with a web browser, and the knowledge to use Thwapr.
While emails are taking over physical letters, the conventions of business letters’ formats are still being followed. An official email often looks exactly like a business letter. The person who sends out these emails is often an assistant and the system works something like this: the assistant opens up a predefined template and then fills out the receiver’s details each time. Since it is a business letter, there is absolutely no room for error on the assistant’s part.
With TheLetterGenie, the boss no longer has to rely on the assistant to get the job done right.
People with a lot of money hire financial advisors to monitor their spending and point out the rights and wrongs in that spending. The money that is saved from correcting the wrongs is then invested into potentially profitable ventures to benefit the client.
However the percentage of people who are that rich is considerably low. Most people are like me, not rich enough to hire external help. We have to manage our own finances and catch our own mistakes. Doing this single-handedly can be quite a task; an extra bit of help can end up benefiting us a lot.
PocketSmith is a free web service and one of those “extra bits of help” which we can employ to manage our finances. It basically acts as a calendar which we can feed our expenses in and which can forecast our future cash positions.
I often point out how I own multiple social media accounts. Not only do I own multiple (many) social media accounts but I also own accounts on numerous websites. As a professional blogger I have reviewed many websites (I have lost count of exactly how many websites) and sometimes I need to create an account on the site to test it. When I like what the site has to offer, I keep the account active and use it every now and then.
People like me who own so many accounts face problems when it comes to password management. Keeping the same password for all our accounts is a terrible practice and should not be followed. But having differing password is not always easy to remember. Various password managers let us store our password on our computer but this means that we cannot have access to our passwords from another computer. Therefore online password managers are the best ones to go with.
The backgrounds of websites usually are textured with a pattern that is essentially a repetition of a simple image. This simple repetition can attribute lesser page loading times. Many site designers try to work out ways in which these patterns can be created to look visually appealing yet use only simple images. Their job has now been made much easier with an online tool which I have recently discovered.
Anybody who wants patterns created out of specific image [or images (plural)] can do so in a few simple steps using Repper.
Today I have got a great tool for bloggers and social-media enthusiasts. This tool is Weblist and it can help share online content more conveniently. Normally when we share multiple links related to the same subject we create a list post and type in details about each link. But with Weblist, the entire process changes and becomes easier.
To illustrate how Weblist exactly works, let us suppose I have to make a list related to iTunes. I get the URL of Wikipedia’s iTunes entry and the URL of the download location of iTunes on FileHippo. I paste these URLs in Weblist. If we already have a list of URLs present in a text file, we can copy the addresses from there, click on the “Paste Multiple URLs” button which and paste the addresses in the window that appears.
As a professional blogger having accounts on multiple social media sites is very beneficial for me. But for average computer users the multiple social media accounts pose a significant management problem; more specifically, photo management.
Our photographs and images are scattered across all our social media accounts. Suppose we want to share one picture from a network A on network B. To do this we normally log in to account A, save the picture, then upload it on account B.
Thankfully with Showzey, that lengthy process no longer needs to be employed.
Dropbox is a wonderful file hosting solution that provides users with 2GB online storage capacity. Countless computer users have taken advantage of Dropbox’s services and use it daily. Being a Dropbox user, I was sure nothing could compete with the user-friendliness and feature-richness offered by Dropbox. But now having discovered Dmailer, I am happy to be proven wrong.
Dmailer is also a free online file hosting solution. We can use the application on Windows and Mac operating systems and use it to backup as much as 2GB of data. The data is stored online, just like Dropbox.
