When I read about web browsers online it seems that all the headlines are captured by Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. With their massive library of useful extensions and addons, both these browsers offer a great user experience. But the web browser which I have only recently started to extensively use is Opera. Addons for Opera are called widgets and they, too, provide great convenience to their users.

Even native English speakers can run into this problem, but less frequently. To understand the unfamiliar word we can look it up in a physical dictionary or preferably, use the internet to look up the word.
Chrome is a wonderful browser. Its speed and constant updates keep it ahead of the game. The gaps left in the user interface are quickly filled out by great 3rd party extensions.
One type of such extensions pops up a menu of options each time we highlight a word on a webpage. The options in the popup menu can be of searching through a search engine, looking up the meaning or synonyms of the word using a variety of online dictionaries, or even checking which online stores is the ‘word’ available on (if the highlighted text is a product).
Apple has three major devices out that are in popular demand: iPod Touch, iPhone, and now the iPad. In addition to their hardware, what their owners love about them is the availibility of countless applications. From little tasks to big ones, applications for these devices can make jobs easier. Other applications are made for pure entertainment and make owning an iDevice all the more worthwhile.
Workplaces can be boring especially if we finish our work early. Usually we turn to the internet to entertain us when the boredom gets too much to take. But the Boss’s fear makes us tread cautiously. We need to keep an eye out for our superiors passing by. If they do pass by, we close our browser and resultantly lose all the tabs we had open. Finding those lost URLs can take a lot of time if there were many tabs open.
While websites may allow us to choose from certain available themes, visitors to a site do not have the liberty to change the site’s color scheme. This is disadvantageous for the visitor in case the site’s existing color scheme makes it difficult for the visitor to read text.
Whether you want to change a site’s color scheme because of this problem or because you want to have fun, you can do so via Webpage Decorator.
Most download managers show us a semitransparent floating window. This window indicates the progress of our current downloads. Firefox, unfortunately, does not have this brilliant feature. To view the progress of our downloads we need to have the Downloads window in Firefox in view; surfing the web in other tabs and continuing with our work thus becomes very difficult unless we are fine with being unaware of our downloads’ progress.
Our memory always loses some stuff that we do not use regularly. This is something all of us know. This is why some of us do not know fractions anymore and cannot explain them to our children; this is also why we cannot sometimes remember the names of certain celebrities or places.
What we need is something that helps us revise everything we do not want to forget. What we need is Headmagnet.
A startpage is the thumbnails view of our favorite bookmarks. It helps us find bookmarks easily. Opera was the first browser that provided a startpage feature; now in addition to browsers supporting it, there are entire websites dedicated to the idea.
Online startpages have the advantage of accessibility. A browser created startpage is only accessible from a specific computer whereas an online startpage can be accessed from anywhere. Having reviewed many startpage websites, I have observed that many of them are somewhat the same. Sitehoover, however, is one truly unique startpage website.
Windows computer users come across new situations often. Amateur computer users are completely baffled when a problem occurs; at times certain computer problems even leave the most experience computer user clueless. Calling technical support for our computers is not always helpful especially because the technician cannot see actually what our computer problem is.
Microsoft has finally recognized this extremely problematic issue and created a solution for it. The solution has been appropriately titled “Fix It.”
If you are an avid music fan like me, you will surely love the application I have got for you today. Today all music is electronically stores and there is a good chance that all your music collection exists as mp3 files. Mp3 files are portable and can be carried around in flash drives as well as cellphones and mp3 players. But what if you have none of these things with you and only the internet? What if you want to listen to your favorite songs?
While it is undoubtedly one of the most stable and impressive internet browsers out there, Firefox still has a considerable journey ahead to become the best browser. This journey is significantly shortened by developers from all over the world who contribute to the Mozilla project by creating wonderful add-ons. These add-ons, plug-ins, and extensions improve the overall functionality of Firefox making it a lot more pleasurable to use.
The main reason for me to shift from Firefox to Chrome was the speed and performance it was offering me. At first it really didn’t had any extensions and I was not able to improve my work productivity but as soon as the extensions hit the market I was one of the many people I know who migrated from Firefox to Chrome.
I have blogged about a number of programs that help users better organize their computer via better folder organization. Usually this is done by batch-renaming a folder or sorting files of certain file formats together in a particular folder. But only recently I discovered a new way of folder organization – color coding.
Imagine having a folder with a large number of subfolders. Some of these folders belong to a certain category. Instead of creating a new folder and putting the similar ones in this new folder, what if you could flag them by a similar color? For instance you could mark red all the folders you want to delete tomorrow.

Recently I came across a great website titled Fav4. It provides users with a four thumbnail shortcuts to websites. The websites can be selected from a list of the most social media websites. Fav4 has an appealing look and can serve as a great clutter-free start-page for any user.
But what if I need a start-page that does not only provide me a link to my most frequented sites, but also extracts the latest updates from them and shows them all to me neatly? I asked a blogger friend about this and his suggestion was more than satisfactory: Feedly.
