Wow – are you from the past? I don’t know any IT professionals that seem to have a lot of spare time. From my experience, they must be one of the most over-worked people. This may have applied during the early 1990′s, but not today!

Do I really agree with you on this one? As for me I haven’t had a lot of spare time in ages. In fact, I mostly have my breaks at my desk and I perceive that it might get worse with the latest developments in social media.

Well I do video rendering technically. You create something around an hour long in HD with multiple video tracks, and even an i7 can take awhile.
Used to do 3D work and it took awhile to render anything at broadcast resolutions since you were working with HD and 30 frames per second.
So no, it’s not about being full of s**t or having a “bad of a computer”, it depends on the application.
