It is not a fair comparison. Dropbox gives you online storage which will remain available to you anywhere. It doesnot require you to carry anything to access your data anywhere. And go ahead, just incase your laptop is broken and USB drive is lost, you are in big trouble.

DMailer is not by any means comparable to Dropbox. They are serving two different purpose with different feature set. Your comparison just remind’s me that someone comparing a Water Purifier and Filtering system with a simple Jug, 🙂

Use dropbox and use it regularly, you will soon discover the other magic features of it!

btw, before you start throwing the rubber balls at me, I need to make it clear that I am not affiliated with those brilliant guys at either Dmailer or Dropbox 🙂

Hasin Hayder thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts with us. Yes you got the point there that one must have to travel with a little bit of software in order to access his file which is not good when you need one of your file in an urgent situation. But one over another is totally based on user per user you might want to travel with your files and i might have fallen for Dmailer’s strong and fast syncing method and 128-bit encryption structure which is the most important part for me.

I know Dropbox is an old player in the industry and already so many people are using and loving them but Dmailer is here with a lot of new features which makes it ‘comparable’ to Dropbox.

I have to agree with Hasin Hayder, Dmailer seems like a fine service, but Dropbox is a very different service that allows met to keep mydata on my work PC, my laptops and my HTPC all synchronized, as well as storing files online.

Dropbox also performs live backups and has versioning of the files stored there. After comparing both, I will stick with Dropbox.

    Hi Hayder

I see your point but i disagree, Why because they are both backup services they just work differently so from my point of view they are compareable because my objective here is to backup my data wether that be with a Backup Aplication, Online storage service, network backup or carrier pigeon and donkey. The variable that matter to me are overall security against cost So for me Dmailer Backups gets this one hands down. And honestly im suprised to see a finished product a great as this from a company i have never heard of.

    Hello,

I am Saravanan from Dmailer. Please Let me clarify your concerns.

@Hasin Hayder: Dmailer backup software allows you to store your files “online” and hence you can have access to your files from anywhere. You get a free 2GB online account(no time limit) along with the backup software. You will also have an easy to access web interface as part of the online storage through which you can share and restore files.

@Mike626: You are correct. We offer a different service to backup your files(local as well as online storage). “Dmailer backup” software is more focused on data protection of your PC. Thanks to live backup and versioning, Dmailer backup software monitors your computer and backup your files locally (external hard drive) and online whenever a change is made to the files.

    Thanks,
    Saravanan

Dropbox works seamlessly with Linux. Does not appear Dmailer supports this option. I also have to option to get up to 8 gigs free after referring friends. I have 3 gigs now.

Dropbox for me all the way. I have tried many other alternatives but nothing comes close in terms of usability and speed

Well, tried Dropbox. Found it too bulky frankly. Now I am with 4shared that allows to do the same with file storage and much but a way cheaper. 15 Gb just in free registration. Try it out on 4shared.com
