6 Free Softwares For Designers That Are Absolutely Useful

We have lots of commercial software available to use on different platform to complete our different work.  As they are not free and sometime we do not able to purchase or for some reason we urgently need some software to complete any task but without having a licensed copy of commercial software we can not perform that job. Don’t worry about it, today we are listing here 6 Free And Simple But Useful Free Apps For Designers in which most of them are cross-platform. There are many alternative available for single software, but I just tried to list down some very non-familiar and useful free software. You probably will not be able to enjoy all the features as original software but it will really help you to perform your task in a better way when your pocket does not allow you to purchase commercial software.

Synfig is a powerful, industrial-strength vector-based 2D animation software package, designed from the ground-up for producing feature-film quality animation with fewer people and resources.Synfig eliminates the task of manual tweening, producing smooth, fluid motion without the animator having to draw out each frame individually. This allows you to produce 2D animation with fewer people while producing art of a higher quality.



Scribus is an open-source program that brings award-winning professional page layout to Linux/UNIX, Mac OS X, OS/2 and Windows desktops with a combination of “press-ready” output and new approaches to page layout. Artweaver is a simple Freeware program for creative painting, i.e. Artweaver offers you all artistic effects which you need for your work. You can create sketches from photos and experiment with a wide range of brushes. The brush simulation is thereby so realistic as possible.



Photoscape is the fun and easy photo editing software that enables you to fix and enhance photos. You can do resizing, brightness and color adjustment, white balance, backlight correction, frames, balloons, mosaic mode, adding text, drawing pictures, cropping, filters, red eye removal, blooming etc

Well – I have been trying to do a simple cover for a DVD case in Scribus, and it is pretty flakey still. I have been trying to use styles but the same style seems to be displayed in different ways and sizes in different places. And snap to guide should be called glue to guide.

Oh – and for the font nuts – Fonty Python lets you create font sets and easily enable/disable them.

Artweaver looks very similar to photoshop no?

Inkscape and Gimp don’t have CMYK capability. But Gimp is far more recommendable than Paint.NER.

It’s great to have these softwares but for proofing I love Proofmini because of easiness and free of cost.
