I’ve used all of these addons at one point or another and can honestly say that none of them are a must have, nix Sxipper. That one can be a lifesaver. But the rest are useless hogs of memory.
As a side note, I like the look of the blog, did you code the the theme yourself?
Its foolish to say that there are 21 “must have” extensions for your browser. Simply having all those extensions running on firefox would put memory usage through the roof. A few of those extensions (like fast dial) already do that on their own. Imagine what would happen if you multiplied that by 21?
When it comes down to it, there are really only 3 extensions that are a “must have” to improve your web browsing and improve your experience with firefox and teh internets.
1) Adblock. Takes care of any ads on any webpage. If it misses one (or if you see a pic you don’t like), just righ click and block it. Greatest extension ever.
2) Foxmarks Bookmarks Synchronizer. Aside from being a handy tool to back up all your bookmarks, it also allows you to use multiple computers (mainly your work and home) but access the same set of bookmarks. Makes life a heck of a lot simpler if you use more than one computer on a regular basis.
3) Tab Mix Plus. Essentially, TMP allows you to basically do anything you want with tabs. My favorite features: a drop down list of your last 10 closed tabs as well as the duplicate tab tool.
i would like to see the add on where you press the button and the pc gets a beer out of the fridge for you ![]()
Though I haven’t tried Foxmarks in order to manage my bookmarks I wouldn’t change Delicious. I think Delicious does the job just fine, it has worked for me.
Thank you anyway for letting us know about these extensions, some are new for me.
I found an added Foxmarks a couple months ago via another Stumbleupon site. I never could get the hang of Delicious, mostly because I didn’t want my bookmarks on a website, I wanted them on my browser. I’ve had Firefox randomly delete all my bookmarks before, so the back-up is nice. Also, it’s great for switching back and forth between laptops.
don’t forget the Torrent Finder Toolbar

i think mouse gestures or “all in one” should be in this list, its just so usefull, nice list by the way
I must partial agree with Sam. There are almost too many add-ons, and if you get too cute with them your browser comes to a halt. That being said, I’ll go on record saying there are 3 that everyone has – Ad-Block, Foxmarks, and of course Stumbleupon. I think most people can get along with the standard Firefox tab tools.
I’d be interested in knowing how many people have all three of these add-ons. I’d venture to guess that most avid surfers have them all.
Unrelated to this post, there is also a beta for foxmarks for IE that appears to sync up IE bookmarks as well.
Nice post though. I think these “best of” lists are very handy and informative.

I’ve been playing with Juice quite a bit recently and am really enjoying it. Cooliris is awesome by the way (although it did manage to crash occasionally).

I think you should remove Fast Dial and replace it with Speed Dial.
As of 2.15 and 2.16, the Fast Dial developer has lost all ethics. Read the 500+ comments on his addon and see his drop from 5 starts to 3 in a single day.
He changed peoples default search engine, added Marketing/spam bookmarks, moved peoples bookmarks around, and in some cases due to poor coding, deleted some of them.
Speed Dial provides all of the same function, without selling out. (I have nothing to do with Speed Dial)
It’s all relative. I’ll put together a list of the extensions I use.

Note that I freely admit in the article that not every user will use every one. A lot of the social networking, IM, and image extensions are used mostly by web junkies.
