The White House is amazing. I love that design. I think that the bold red look for CNN is too much. When I first saw it I thought that something terrible had happened, like another terrorist attack. It certainly caught my attention, but only like there was an emergency or something. It is too bold for an everyday news site.

There were some greats in 2009, particularly the Twitter Foxnews, and ESPN redesigns. Noticeably absent from the list were FoxSports and Woot.com.
