With this enhancement, you’ll find a simple toggle in your Status Privacy settings that lets you allow—and just as easily block—your contacts from forwarding your status to others.

The feature first appeared in the Android Beta 2.25.16.16 release, and testing suggests it’ll roll out globally within the next few weeks.
Once live, you’ll see an “Allow Reshare” option beneath Privacy. Turn it off, and the forward icon vanishes for anyone viewing your status—no more unexpected shares.
To protect your personal information, WhatsApp will automatically strip out your phone number and profile details from any reshared status, keeping your identity private.
If you leave the resharing switch on, friends can forward your status posts into individual chats or even into their own status feed—only when you’ve given them permission to do so.
